Ganesha Within Us

Not only in idols carved from clay,
Not only in songs we sing in May,
You live in the spaces between our thoughts,
In quiet hopes that can’t be bought.

You are not just a festival light,
Not just the joy of ten days bright.
You are the wisdom behind each choice,
The calm within our inner voice.

You are the stillness before the prayer,
The softness in a mother’s care.
You are the courage when fear arrives,
The strength that helps the soul survive.

O Ganesha, with the trunk so wide,
You gather sorrows and tuck them aside.
With one small gesture of your hand,
You teach us how to firmly stand.

We come to you with dreams and fears,
With broken hearts and fallen tears.
You don’t promise the storm won’t come,
But that we won’t be overcome.

No golden throne, no royal crown,
Yet in your smile, all pride bows down.
You’re found in laughter, work, and art,
You are the rhythm of the heart.

Your mouse, so small, so brave, so free,
Reminds us what we’re meant to be—
Humble in size, but great in will,
Able to climb the highest hill.

You hold a rope to pull us near,
A goad to drive away all fear,
A sweet to show that joy remains,
Even in loss, even in pains.

Your single tusk, a sign so clear,
That even broken things are dear.
Perfection isn’t always whole,
But truth that dwells within the soul.

The world begins with your sacred name,
No poet writes without your flame.
You are the silence in each line,
The unseen hand, the spark divine.

Each year we shape you out of earth,
And dance and cheer to mark your birth.
But what we truly celebrate,
Is your quiet presence in our fate.

Then comes the day we let you go,
Into the sea, where waters flow.
But how can we say goodbye to grace?
You live within our sacred space.

O Lord of Beginnings, stay with me,
In moments big or silently.
Walk with me through dark and light,
Guide my steps to what is right.

Let my ego melt like clay,
Let my pride be washed away.
Fill me with the kind of peace
That doesn’t fade and doesn’t cease.

You are the beat in every drum,
The breath that tells the soul, “Become.”
In every prayer, in every start,
O Ganesha, you are my heart.
